It is also an invaluable resource for teachers organising ‘Chinese Culture Days’ as whole-school or KS3 events. It focusses on Chinese Philosophy & Poetry, comparing the 3 main schools of thought in traditional Chinese culture: Confucianism, Buddhism and, especially, Daoism/Taoism; the lesson then asks students to read, analyse and discuss carefully selected poems from the 2500 year-old ‘Tao Te Ching’ (The most single most widely translated text from China).
